Thai and Ayurvedic Modalities

  • Fire cupping is an ancient practice that uses localized pressure to promote healing and treat a variety of health conditions. Cupping brings much-needed oxygen flow to the surface of the skin. Localized vacuuming under the cup increases circulation and energy flow to affected areas, or β€œSen.” Long term treatment can create lasting results by stimulating lymphatic flow, decreasing inflammation and relieving pain. Cup sliding can also be used to improve range of motion by lubricating and loosening deep fascia.

  • Scraping produces temporary therapeutic petachiae and has been shown to increase superficial blood circulation by 400%. In an area that has had blockage or is in any way numb/depleted, scraping is brings an immediate flush of circulation thereby removing toxins and delivering nutrients to an area.

    Benefits include:

    - Treating headaches

    - Dispersing stagnation

    - Releasing excess heat and stuck wind

    - Releasing fascial restriction and adhesions

    - Breaking down scar tissue

    - Reducing inflammation

    - Lymphatic drainage

  • Fragrant compresses use a variety of herbal blends and spices to relax muscles, relieve fatigue, boost well-being, improve circulation and support lymphatic function. Health benefits include treatment of multiple ailments such as inflammation, chest congestion, arthritis, migraine and skin conditions. Poultice blends are wrapped in cotton sheets and steam-heated. This procedure allows essential oils to be released, providing the foundation for a nutrient-rich massage.

  • Volcanic Rock, Jasper and Himalayan Salt Stones are thoroughly heated and massaged on the body to facilitate muscle release, reduce joint pain and reduce insomnia. Stones generate negative ions, which are shown to help create a sense of peace and deep relaxation.
